Congratulations to postdoctoral researchers, Dr. Maggie Lange (Burke lab) and Dr. Atsuko Hachiya (Sarafianos lab), and to graduate students, Adeyemi Adediji (Sarafianos lab) and Sanath Kumar Janaka (Johnson lab). ALL FOUR of these individuals won competitive travel grants to attend major conferences on HIV and other viruses. Their room and board, registration and travel expenses will all be paid for by the conference organizers. Lange, Hachiya and Adediji—along with four others from their groups—will present their work on HIV and SARS therapeutics at the 10th Annual Symposium on Antiviral Drug Resistance:Targets and Mechanisms, in Richmond, VA, November 15-18, 2009. Janaka will present his work on retroviral assembly mechanisms at the Keystone Symposium on HIV Biology and Pathogenesis in Santa Fe, NM, January 15-17, 2010.
